About the Couple:
- Married nearly 70 years — strong bond, love/hate dynamic, deeply committed
- Husband (90): advanced dementia, incontinence care, needs patience, calm presence, and steady redirection
- Wife (88): advancing Alzheimer’s, easily frustrated by memory loss, needs companionship, reassurance, and gentle support
- Couples relationship can become volatile at times — requires excellent redirection and de‐escalation skills
- Must be able to adapt to the emotional waves of dementia with steadiness and calm
What We Need:
- Must live within 30 miles or less (for emergency call‐ins)
- Non‐smoker only
- Background check required
- Reliable transportation (No Uber, shared rides, etc.)
- Comfortable working long 12‐hour shifts
- Emotionally steady, patient, and able to stay calm under pressure
- Must be good with two small, friendly house dogs
- Someone who understands dementia or is willing to learn
Schedule: 24 Hours a Week with Optional hours available
- Saturday: 9 AM – 9 PM
- Sunday: 9 AM – 9 PM
- Optional Monday shift available (same hours)
