Our office is looking for a highly motivated orthodontic assistant. We offer considerable on-the-job training. Our team is dedicated to giving the best patient care, participating in community connection and fostering a team-focused, uplifting, and educational work culture.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver orthodontic clinical care (such as arch wire changes, assist with placing and removing orthodontic brackets, removal of orthodontic appliances, etc.)
- Lab duties such as instrument sterilization, pouring & trimming plaster models, fabricating clear retainer appliances
- Educate patients on orthodontic and appliance care
- Take x-rays using a digital x-ray machine & computer with specialized software
- Keep clinic area clean, stocked and organized
- Clinical tray preparation for orthodontic procedures
- Maintain accurate entries into patients’ chart
- Maintaining proper HIPAA and OSHA/MIOSHA compliance at all times
- Cross-train for basic clerical duties such as making appointments
Dental and/or Orthodontic Assistant experience preferred, also willing to train the right candidate. Hourly rate to reflect experience. Independent self-study of orthodontics will be expected as a part of our in-depth orthodontic assistant training program.
Working days: 8:30AM-5:00PM on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday; 9:00AM-1:00PM on Thursday. Office is closed Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Experience:
- Dental Assisting: Minimum of 1 year (Preferred)
- Orthodontic Assisting: Minimum of 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Registered Dental Assistant (Preferred)
- X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
