Job Title: Torch Cutter / Metal Cutter
Location: South Gate, CA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Torch/Cutter to join our team for a leading metal recycling company. The Torch Cutter will be responsible for safely and efficiently cutting stainless metal using oxy-fuel cutting torches and other tools. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced recycling environment.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time position with potential overtime.
- Hourly pay – $24-$25 BOE

Responsibilities:
- Operate oxy-fuel torches to cut, scrap big metal pieces up to 3 feet.
- Sort, identify, and prepare metal according to company and customer specifications.
- Inspect materials before cutting to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain torch equipment, hoses, and tanks in safe working conditions.
- Follow safety guidelines for handling flammable gases and working in recycling environments.
- Operate forklifts or other equipment (if certified) to move scrap material.
- Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
Requirements:
- Experience using oxy-fuel torches or similar cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of scrap metal types (ferrous and non-ferrous).
- Ability to read and follow safety procedures and instructions.
- Comfortable working in outdoor/industrial environments.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Prior experience in a metal recycling or scrap yard environment preferred.
- Resume and interview process is required.
