Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly as a hostess and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems to optimize seating flow.
- Provide attentive table service by taking orders accurately, processing sales transactions with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and upselling menu items including wine and spirits to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Prepare and serve beverages including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks with precision and flair, ensuring proper drink presentation and adherence to alcohol service laws.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by handling food safely, bussing tables efficiently, and supporting food preparation when needed.
- Manage cash handling duties accurately during shifts while processing payments swiftly and securely.
- Assist in supervising staff during your shift by coordinating tasks such as food running, guest relations, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Foster a positive guest experience through excellent customer service skills, guest relations management, and effective communication with team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service roles such as server, bartender, host/hostess or shift supervisor within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in beverage service including cocktail mixing, spirits knowledge, wine expertise, and upselling techniques.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables or responsibilities efficiently during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling duties.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Exceptional customer service abilities with a focus on guest relations and creating memorable dining experiences.
