Sunrise Bistro is a growing family owned restaurant that opened its doors in 2009 on Johns Island. Since then, we've expanded and also have locations in Summerville, Mount Pleasant, Aiken, and Goose Creek. We are looking to hire for every location currently. We have openings for server positions, host/hostesses, dish washers, prep cooks, and line cooks. Ideally we would like to have people who are interested in growing with the company, have a positive attitude, and have some experience in food and bev. Must be available on weekends.
Responsibilities of a server:
- Greet guests and present menus
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Serve dishes and drinks in a timely and professional manner
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction
- Maintain clean and organized tables and service areas
- Handle payments and process transactions
- Have knowledge of menu items
- Complete side work accurately
- Be a team player
Responsibilities of a host/hostess:
- Greeting guests and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
- Seating guests according to the seating chart and pacing needs
- Providing accurate wait times and managing waiting lists
- Handling customer inquiries and phone calls
- Responding to special requests and accommodating large parties
- Supporting wait staff by balancing sections and shift timing
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the host stand
Responsibilities of a dishwasher:
- Wash, stack, sort, and store dishes, glasses/cups, utensils and cookware
- Keep dish area clean, organized, and free of clutter
- Set up dishwasher stations, including sinks and machines
- Ensure that chemicals are full and well stocked
- Keep floors dry and clean
- Take out garbage as needed
Responsibilities of a prep cook:
- Washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruits, vegetables, and meats.
- Measuring seasoning and ingredients, and portioning food items for efficient service
- Organizing and stocking workstations with necessary tools and ingredients.
- Executing initial cooking steps, such as parboiling, reducing sauces, or mixing dressings
- Adhering to health regulations, sanitizing surfaces, cleaning utensils/cookware, and properly storing food
- Monitoring ingredient levels, restocking stations, and notifying management of needed inventory
- Assisting chefs and line cooks during busy periods to ensure smooth service
- Proficiency in chopping, slicing, and dicing
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and move heavy items
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Responsibilities of a line cook:
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes
- Plating prepared foods based on chef’s guidance
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
- Proficiency in chopping, slicing, and dicing
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and move heavy items
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $2.13 - $22.00 per hour
