About the Role:
Stay Home Pet Sitting provides concierge-level, in-home care for pets. This is a flexible and rewarding role, but it comes with real responsibility and high standards.
This is not a casual side gig. You are accountable not only for your visits, but also for clear, consistent communication before, during, and after your shifts.
What “On Call” Means:
- You are expected to remain accessible by phone between your scheduled shifts, including visits and overnights.
- You are also expected to be responsive between visits, this includes client messages, team communications, or brief 1:1 calls that may arise as part of your scheduled work. These in-between responsibilities are considered part of the role.
- “On call” does not mean dropping everything for emergencies outside of scheduled work, but it does mean prioritizing responsiveness and communication at all times including between scheduled visits.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-home pet care according to client instructions
- Respond promptly to client and team messages
- Be reachable for brief phone or video check-ins between shifts
- Follow standard operating procedures consistently
- Start timers on arrival and manage visits on schedule
- Maintain professionalism and consistency across all visits
Requirements:
- Prior pet care experience preferred
- Professional, reliable, detail-oriented
- Strong availability is a priority (AM, midday, PM, weekends, overnights 7pm–8am)
- Must have a smartphone with reliable internet
- Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently
- Able to commit up to 15 hours/week (with potential for more)
- Comfortable being scheduled for consecutive visits and staying responsive between them
