Position Overview
As a Busser at Muertos Cantina, you are a key player in ensuring the dining room runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll support the servers and other front-of-house staff by keeping the restaurant clean, organized, and inviting. Your role is vital in maintaining the atmosphere and making sure our guests feel comfortable from start to finish. You’ll help set the stage for excellent service by ensuring tables are cleared and reset quickly, so our guests always feel well taken care of.
Key Responsibilities
- Table Maintenance: Clear and clean tables promptly after guests leave, ensuring they are reset quickly and properly for the next guests. This includes wiping down surfaces, arranging utensils, and ensuring chairs are tidy.
- Guest Assistance: Help ensure guests’ needs are met by promptly delivering additional items like napkins, silverware, or water glasses. Assist servers in providing excellent hospitality by staying attentive to the guest area.
- Supporting Servers: Assist servers by refilling drinks, bringing extra napkins, and helping with any additional tasks that improve the dining experience.
- Restocking and Replenishing: Ensure all areas are stocked with clean plates, utensils, and napkins, and help with any minor cleaning tasks that keep the restaurant looking great.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the dining area, restrooms, and surrounding areas neat and tidy. Ensure the floors are swept, free from debris, and safe for guests.
- Communicating with the Team: Communicate clearly with servers and managers to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and that guests are well taken care of.
- Special Requests: Respond to any special requests from guests or staff quickly and efficiently, ensuring that our guests’ needs are met in a timely manner.
What We’re Looking For
- Team Player: You’ll be working closely with servers, bartenders, and the rest of the team to keep the dining room running smoothly. A positive, cooperative attitude is essential.
- Efficiency: Ability to move quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
- Attention to Detail: Whether it's clearing a table, resetting it, or keeping the floor clean, you’ll need to be observant and thorough in your work.
- Positive Attitude: A friendly, approachable demeanor and the ability to stay upbeat even during the busiest shifts.
- Multitasking Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while maintaining focus on the guests and their needs.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stand, walk, and lift throughout your shift while remaining energetic and professional.
- Previous Experience: While prior experience in a similar role is preferred, we are more interested in your ability to work hard, learn quickly, and maintain a high level of hospitality.
