The Director of Logistics is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence,
and financial performance of the company's logistics and distribution network. This
position oversees 3–4 distribution centers ranging from 50,000 to 75,000 square feet,
ensuring efficient warehousing, inventory accuracy, transportation management, customer
fulfillment, and international shipping operations.
The Director develops scalable logistics strategies that improve customer service, reduce
operating costs, optimize inventory flow, and support business growth across domestic and international markets.
What You'll Do:
Logistics Leadership
Develop and execute the company's logistics strategy aligned with business objectives.
Lead all warehouse and distribution operations across multiple facilities.
Build standardized operating procedures across all locations.
Establish KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop annual operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, customer service, and operational
excellence.
Distribution Center Operations
Provide leadership for receiving, put-away, inventory control, order fulfillment,
pick/pack/ship, returns processing, cycle counting, material handling, and value-added
services.
Manage facilities totaling approximately 200,000–300,000 square feet across multiple
locations.
Transportation Management
Oversee parcel, LTL, truckload, expedited freight, and intermodal transportation.
Lead carrier negotiations, routing optimization, freight cost reduction, on-time delivery,
and transportation analytics.
International Logistics
Lead ocean and air freight operations, import/export compliance, customs
documentation, HTS classification, country of origin compliance, duty optimization,
Incoterms management, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and international trade
compliance.
Coordinate shipments throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and other global
markets.
Inventory Management
Improve inventory accuracy, optimize warehouse capacity, reduce inventory losses,
improve inventory turns, support SIOP initiatives, ensure cycle count compliance, and
maintain inventory integrity.
Warehouse Optimization
Drive Lean initiatives including layout optimization, slotting, labor productivity, storage
utilization, material flow improvements, automation, and continuous improvement.
Technology Systems
Lead implementation and optimization of WMS, ERP, TMS, RF technology, barcode
systems, warehouse automation, and BI reporting.
Leverage data analytics to improve operational performance.
Financial Management
Manage logistics budgets, freight spend, warehouse operating costs, labor productivity,
inventory carrying costs, capital investments, and cost reduction initiatives.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, international shipping regulations, dangerous
goods requirements (where applicable), and company safety standards.
Drive a zero-incident safety culture.
Leadership
Direct Warehouse Managers, Transportation Manager, Inventory Control Manager,
Logistics Analysts, and International Shipping Coordinator.
Coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field.
MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive logistics leadership experience.
Minimum 5 years leading multiple warehouse locations.
Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
