Shoffner Construction & Excavating is seeking a motivated, dependable individual to join our team as a Septic System Installer / Heavy Equipment Operator. This position involves the installation and repair of septic systems and sewer lines, operation of heavy equipment, and general excavation and site work. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Job Responsibilities
- Install septic systems, sewer lines, grinder pumps, and related components
- Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, skid loaders, and track loaders
- Perform site excavation, grading, backfilling, and yard restoration
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairing existing septic and sewer systems
- Read and follow site plans, permits, and job specifications
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Work safely and efficiently as part of a team
- Participate in snow plowing operations during the winter months (CDL required)
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License required
- CDL Class A or B a PLUS
- Previous construction, excavation, septic, sewer, or heavy equipment experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on uneven terrain
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
