Title: Multi-Program Assistant and Driver

Role Summary: The program coordinator will support multiple DICP programs primarily through driving box trucks and passenger vans. This position should be comfortable driving larger vehicles, but does not need a CDL. To support the food pantry, this role will assist in picking up multiple pallets of donated and purchased food from various locations, as well as assisting with loading and unloading. To support the Greens-N-Grains program, this position will assist in driving the food truck, as well as helping with food distribution. To support DICP’s Seniors program, this position will assist with driving passenger vans to transport our senior citizens to various locations.
The person in this role is dependable, organized, community-oriented, and committed to serving diverse populations with dignity, respect, and quality customer service.
Essential Functions
- Driving both box trucks to various locations in the metro area
- Loading and unloading trucks using a pallet jack, a liftgate, dollies, etc.
- Driving the DICP food truck to various locations in the metro area
- Supporting the Greens-N-Grains cook in serving meals from the food truck
- Picking up and dropping off DICP senior participants at their homes
- Supporting Seniors programming by driving passenger vans for various outings
- Maintaining accurate pickup, delivery, mileage, and vehicle inspection records.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of vehicles (both inside and out)
- Ensure proper handling of donated items, including perishable food items
- Support programs with ride scheduling
- Support programs with delivery preparations
Hours:
- Monday-Friday, fulltime hours roughly between 8am and 5pm
- Daily hours have flexibility, and will be determined upon hiring
Competencies
- Skills: Proven driving skills; good driving record; comfortability with driving 15 passenger vans and box trucks.
- Languages: Bilingualism (Spanish) is desirable
- Valid Colorado Drivers License
- Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
- Punctuality and time management
- Ability to maintain a digital calendar
Work Environment
All vehicles begin and end at DICP building. There are five vehicles in all: two box trucks, two passenger vans, one food truck. Destinations will vary from schools (G-n-G meals) to warehouses (food pantry pickups) to individual homes (Seniors), and sometimes include field trips for seniors that extend outside of the metro area.

- Lifting: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate pallet jack and liftgates as well as push and pull loaded carts
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times daily.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to read and follow directions
- Ability to verbally communicate
- Ability to hear and comprehend
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Clear background check (required)
- Prior driving experience
