American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring telemetry experience and active ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.

13-week contract position in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a short-term acute care hospital (78 staffed beds)

Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)

Minimum of 3 weekends required per 6-week period, with weekend shifts running 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Patient ratio of 1:5
-
Unit admits pediatric patients in addition to general med/surg population

Charting via Meditech
-
On-call assignment is a possibility based on unit needs
-
Floating to other units or areas may be required based on hospital needs

Active IN or compact RN license required
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS — candidates cannot begin the assignment without a valid PALS certificate

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Telemetry (tele) experience required

Med/Surg experience preferred; ambulatory experience also preferred

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years

Candidates who were directly employed by the facility within the past 12 months are not eligible without prior written approval

Any time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; no more than 5 days of RTO will be approved

If a shift is called off, the traveler will be expected to pick up a replacement shift

Any color scrubs are acceptable; professional appearance is expected

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and will receive a reduced pay rate differential
