Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering packages to various customers homes and businesses while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires strong driving skills, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and excellent route navigation. You must be available to work any day of the week. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction through efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, including vans and box trucks, to transport goods to and from homes and businesses within a designated area.
- Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules for timely deliveries while adhering to DOT traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery utilizing scanners and iPads.
- Communicate effectively with management and warehouse staff regarding any issues or delays.
- Assist with loading trucks as needed, including organizing inventory and preparing items for shipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or similar role is preferred; experience with DOT commercial driving regulations is a plus.
- Candidate must have or be able to attain a Chauffeurs License.
- Have a CLEAR driving record with a valid driver's license; familiarity with route driving is essential. Last mile service is a bonus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 150 pounds with the assistance of a hand cart or dolly) and manage physical demands of delivering 125-225 packages per day.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail for accurate deliveries.
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations with delivery business is advantageous.
