Responsibilities
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural realignment using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to restore vehicle frames and panels accurately.
- Conduct auto painting, auto restoration, and automotive cosmetic repairs using airless paint spraying and refinishing techniques to achieve a flawless finish.
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with precision.
- Apply fabrication repair techniques for custom modifications or repairs involving sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly to identify damage, assess repair needs, and execute automotive dent repair or structural fixes accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, welding operations, and use of power tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar auto repair role within a dealership or independent shop.
- Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, auto body repair processes, and cosmetic refinishing techniques.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication repair techniques, and the use of automotive welding equipment.
- Familiarity with auto painting methods including airless paint spraying and automotive body refinishing.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, parts installation, auto glass replacement, and general automotive repair.
- Skilled in handling hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and other shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during all phases of repair work.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with experience in auto estimating are considered a plus.
