Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to promote safety during transfers
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to foster independence
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control standards
- Engage residents in social activities and support their emotional well-being through compassionate interaction
- Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe transportation practices
- Collaborate with team members, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia management, and behavior management techniques
- Certification or training in first aid is advantageous; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring is desirable
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Strong communication skills coupled with a caring attitude toward residents’ needs
- Valid driver’s license preferred for driving responsibilities; must adhere to safety standards at all times
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting or transferring residents safely
Required:
- Age 18 or older
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass criminal background screening
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients as needed
