Afternoon Teacher – Classroom Support Role
The Learning Experience – Gainesville is seeking a dependable Afternoon Teacher to support classrooms during afternoon routines, enrichment activities, and end-of-day transitions. This role helps create a safe, engaging, and organized environment for children and families during pickup hours.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with multiple age groups in a collaborative early childhood setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children
- Assist with afternoon activities, playground supervision, and classroom transitions
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Provide ratio coverage across classrooms as needed
- Support teachers with classroom cleanup and end-of-day preparation
- Communicate professionally with families during pickup times
- Follow Virginia childcare licensing and safety requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- Comfortable supporting multiple age groups
- Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented approach
- Must meet Virginia childcare licensing requirements
