Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, customer-oriented Paint Retail Associate (part-time with potential full-time in the future) to join our team. In this role, you will learn to be the go-to expert for DIYers, contractors, and homeowners.
You will be responsible for the paint counter customer service, receiving and stocking customer and in store orders, operating tinting and mixing equipment. You will learn color matching expertise, and provide top-notch customer service, helping people solve problems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service & Consultation
- Guide & Advise: Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting the right paint types, finishes, primers, and stains for their specific projects (interior, exterior, wood, metal, etc.).
- Color Matching: Help customers navigate color options, identify coordinating palettes, and utilize color-matching technology to replicate samples.
- Project Checklist: Recommend necessary supplies and tools (brushes, rollers, tape, drop cloths, sandpaper) to ensure customers have everything they need for a successful project.
2. Paint Store Operations
- Mixing & Tinting: Accurately operate automatic and manual tinting machines, shakers, and color matchers.
- Quality Control: Double-check formulas and perform test swatches to guarantee color accuracy before dispensing product to the customer.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily calibration, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of mixing machines and tint dispensers.
3. Inventory & Merchandising
- Stocking: Keep paint shelves, color card displays, and supply aisles fully stocked, front-faced, and neatly organized.
- Inventory Control: Assist with receiving shipments, sorting product out between customer orders, store-stock, and warehouse overstock. We have carts and 2 wheelers, but it would help if you are able to lift from 5-50 lbs.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized paint counter, store, warehouse, and mixing area in compliance with safety standards.
