As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Extrusion Die Designer to join our engineering team.
Position Summary
We are seeking an entry to mid-level Extrusion Die Designer with experience designing aluminum extrusion dies. This position is responsible for creating new die designs, modifying existing tooling, and collaborating with manufacturing personnel to ensure tooling performs efficiently while meeting customer specifications.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically minded, and enjoys solving manufacturing challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
· Design all related extrusion tooling.
· Interpret customer part prints and extrusion profiles.
· Create complete manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
· Design new tooling while considering manufacturability, material flow, strength, and production efficiency.
· Revise existing die designs based on production feedback and customer changes.
· Work closely with programmers, machinists, EDM operators, and production personnel to improve tooling performance.
· Maintain engineering documentation and revision history.
· Assist with troubleshooting tooling issues and recommending design improvements.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, throughput, and tool life.
Qualifications Required
· Strong mechanical aptitude.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
· Experience with CAD software.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred
· Experience designing both solid and hollow extrusion dies.
· 3+ years of aluminum extrusion die design experience.
· Understanding of aluminum metal flow and die correction techniques.
· Familiarity with CNC machining, Wire EDM, and sinker EDM manufacturing processes.
· Knowledge of heat treating, nitriding, and extrusion tooling materials.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
