Duties
- Read and interpret detailed construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation of cabinets and wood fixtures.
- Use hand tools and power tools specifically designed for woodworking, including saws, drills, sanders, and CNC machines, to cut, shape, assemble, and finish cabinetry components.
- Measure spaces precisely to ensure custom cabinets fit seamlessly within designated areas; perform heavy lifting as needed for large or bulky materials.
- Fabricate cabinetry components from various wood construction materials, ensuring quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Install finished cabinets, doors, trim carpentry elements, fixtures, siding, and other woodwork with precision; perform door hanging and fixture installation tasks.
- Conduct restoration work such as water damage remediation, stucco repairs, or siding replacement when necessary to maintain project integrity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following power tool safety protocols; operate woodworking machines responsibly and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, carpentry, woodworking, residential carpentry, trim carpentry, framing carpentry, metal stud framing or related fields.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings including schematics and construction plans; familiar with schematics for cabinetry fabrication or electrical layouts when applicable.
- Proficient in using hand tools (saws, chisels) and power tools (drills, sanders) for woodworking projects; experienced with CNC machinery is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of wood construction materials such as plywood, MDF, hardwoods; experience with rebar installation or concrete forming is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; experienced in working on construction sites with diverse tasks like masonry, plumbing integration or roofing as needed.
- Knowledge of power tool safety standards; capable of working independently or as part of a team on remodeling projects or restoration jobs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately; previous experience in the restoration industry or water damage restoration is beneficial.
