Resurrection School in Rye, NY is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead of Educational Support Services to join our school community. Resurrection is a vibrant Catholic school serving more than 500 students in pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. We are committed to forming students spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally, while fostering a strong sense of community.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned educator who is passionate about closing achievement gaps, strengthening instructional practices, and ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually
Responsibilities
- Oversee all educational support services including IEP/IESP coordination, testing accommodations, and behavioral intervention
- Serve as an instructional coach who partners directly with teachers to enhance classroom practice
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on referrals to the CPSE/CSE
- Manage Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes
- Analyze student performance data (MAP, benchmarks, classroom assessments) to identify academic gaps and work with teachers to develop targeted strategies
- Design and lead professional development sessions aligned with school goals and educational needs of teachers and students
- Provide individualized coaching, modeling, and feedback to K–8 teachers to enhance instructional effectiveness
- Collaborate with teachers to co-plan lessons, implement interventions, and monitor student progress where individual student needs have been identified
- Serve as a liaison between teachers, administration, and families regarding student support plans, accommodations, and progress
- Coordinate meetings with parents/teachers regarding student support plans, accommodations, and progress
- Participate in ongoing reflection and evaluation of coaching impact on teacher development and student growth
- Participate fully in school life — faculty meetings, school events, parent conferences, professional development, and other supervisory duties
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and Master's degrees required. Candidates currently enrolled in and actively working toward completion of a Master's degree will be considered
- New York State (or other US state) Certification in Special Education
- Prior behavior management training preferred (CPI, or other methods)
- 3+ years of experience teaching students with special education needs
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Older Elementary / Middle school teaching experience preferred
- Committed to Catholic education
