Job Summary:
NorthStar Builds is a residential construction company specializing in high-end remodeling, custom homes, and reconstruction work. We’re known for delivering exceptional craftsmanship, streamlined project management, and a respectful, solutions-first approach. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a detail-driven Construction Project Manager to help lead our projects from concept to completion.
As our Construction Project Manager, you’ll take each job from estimate to execution. You’ll work closely with leadership, in-house carpenters, designers, and subcontractors to keep timelines tight, clients informed, and crews on track.
You’ll use JobTread (our project management software) daily to manage schedules, coordinate materials, assign tasks, and communicate updates.
Responsibilities:
- Turn approved estimates into full project plans
- Build and maintain Gantt-style schedules for each job in JobTread
- Write detailed work orders based on take-offs and project scope
- Procure materials and coordinate deliveries with suppliers
- Assign tasks and manage in-house carpenters and subcontractors
- Communicate daily with site leads, foremen, and trade partners
- Track job progress and make real-time schedule adjustments
- Send regular updates and daily logs to homeowners via JobTread
- Document all changes clearly and maintain organized digital records
- Track change orders and notify leadership as needed
Project Types You'll Manage
This role involves a mix of:
- High-end Residential Remodels
- Custom New Home Builds
- Home Reconstruction Projects (e.g. post-damage rebuilds, additions, whole-home renovations)
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience managing residential construction projects
- 10+ years in construction or related field
- Strong background in remodeling and new home workflows
- Proven experience coordinating trades, managing schedules, and issuing work orders
- Ability to manage multiple crews and keep timelines tight
- Comfortable using project management tools like JobTread, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or Procore
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently
- Strong communicator with both homeowners and field teams
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 30-60 pounds frequently during shift. Occasional 100 pounds
- Bend, stoop, push, and pull in a work environment for up to an 10 hour work shift.
