Overview
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Kindergarten Teacher to ignite a love of learning in our youngest students. In this role, you will design engaging lesson plans, manage dynamic classroom activities, and support the holistic development of children from diverse backgrounds. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help shape confident, curious, and capable learners ready for their educational journey.
Duties
- Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies
Qualifications Required
- Valid Texas Educator Certificate (EC-6 or equivalent) issued by the State of Texas.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to meet all state licensing and background check requirements.
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience teaching Kindergarten or Early Elementary students.
- Experience with inquiry-based, project-based, or hands-on learning approaches.
- Familiarity with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
- Experience working in an accredited early childhood or private school setting.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Instruction
- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with Texas TEKS, The Goddard School curriculum, and school-wide educational initiatives.
- Utilize The Goddard School's Wonder of Learning™ framework to create inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Foster literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and social-emotional development through meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction and intervention.
- Prepare students academically, socially, and emotionally for continued success in elementary school.
Classroom Environment
- Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom culture where all children feel valued and respected.
- Maintain a classroom environment that reflects high-quality early childhood educational practices and Goddard standards.
- Establish predictable routines and positive behavior expectations that promote independence and self-regulation.
- Ensure the classroom is organized, engaging, and conducive to learning.
Family Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with families through consistent, proactive communication.
- Conduct parent conferences and provide regular updates regarding student progress.
- Partner with families to support each child's academic and developmental goals.
- Represent The Goddard School professionally and positively in all interactions with families.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists, and leadership team members to ensure consistency and excellence across programs.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, accreditation initiatives, and school events.
- Support school-wide goals related to quality assurance, family satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as an ambassador for The Goddard School's mission, values, and commitment to educational excellence.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and student records.
- Ensure compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards and all school policies and procedures.
- Participate in accreditation, quality assurance, and licensing initiatives as required.
