Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid Illinois SLP license and active PEL (Professional Educator License) endorsement
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong collaborative skills with educators, families, and school staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to evolving student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations for students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans according to IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy services to students, adapting methods to diverse learning styles
- Monitor and document student progress, updating records and reports regularly
- Collaborate with teachers, special education team members, and families
- Serve as a resource and advocate, promoting best practices in communication support
- Participate in IEP meetings, RTI (Response to Intervention) processes, and school-based consultations
- Stay current with best practices and continuing education in the field
