The Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills’ mission is to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible members of our community. Through education, character/leadership, arts, health & wellness, and sports programs, we help kids grow in skill, confidence, and character. Our sports programs are guided by the Positive Coaching Alliance values, focusing on building life skills through athletics.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for energetic, positive, and dependable Cheer Coaches to lead our 4th–6th grade teams in cheer during our flag football, basketball, and soccer seasons. BGCF coaches are mentors first — creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where youth learn the fundamentals of their sport, develop confidence, and understand the importance of teamwork, effort, and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead practices, choreography, and performances during half-time for assigned sport(s)
- Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and positive sportsmanship
- Model and reinforce Positive Coaching Alliance principles:
Filling Emotional Tanks (building members up with encouragement and constructive feedback)
- Mentor youth to grow both as athletes and as people
- Communicate effectively with Site Directors, parents, and Club staff
- Ensure safe, respectful, and inclusive play for all participants
- Maintain equipment and clean play spaces
Qualifications:
- Experience in and/or coaching cheer (preferred)
- Commitment to youth development and character-building through cheer
- Positive, patient, and adaptable mindset
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of youth
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus (can be obtained after hire)
- Must pass a background check
Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 1-6pm
- Wednesday 12:00- 6:30pm

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to perform certain duties.
- The noise level in the work environment can range from quiet to moderate in office settings to moderate and usually loud in recreation and play settings when members are present.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 per week
