We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with specialized knowledge in orthodontic procedures and patient care. As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you will support orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatment, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate instruments and materials for orthodontic procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, utilizing chairside assisting skills.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry and general dentistry cases.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on orthodontics; prior experience in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dental assisting certifications and continuing education requirements for orthodontic practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient care efficiency.
