Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Emergency Vehicle Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing emergency vehicle equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Install emergency lighting, sirens, communication devices, and specialized mechanical systems on various types of vehicles using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle electrical systems, ensuring proper wiring, schematics adherence, and functionality of all installed components.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems within emergency vehicles.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to interpret vehicle wiring diagrams and mechanical layouts for accurate installation and repair processes.
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy equipment, mounting devices securely, and managing parts during installation procedures.
- Test installed systems using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters to verify electrical continuity and system integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of installation procedures, repairs, and maintenance activities for compliance and quality assurance.
Requirements
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in a workshop or vehicle environment.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems repair.
- Experience working with diesel mechanics or in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive service standards and vehicle safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical instructions precisely.
