Job description:
A Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory tests on patient samples to aid in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. The role involves handling specimens, operating laboratory equipment, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining accurate records.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collect patient samples such as blood, urine, stool, sputum, and tissue.
- Ensure correct labeling and documentation of all samples.
- Follow proper procedures for safe handling, transport, and storage.
- Hematology (blood analysis)
- Microbiology
- Clinical biochemistry
- Immunology/serology
- Use laboratory instruments such as analyzers, microscopes, centrifuges.
- Perform calibration, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure equipment is functioning accurately and safely.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory standards
Pay: $2,182.00 per week
Experience:
- Medical LabTech/Med Tech: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- MLT Certification (Required)
