Duties
- Prepare interior and exterior surfaces through cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray systems), and other hand tools with precision and efficiency
- Execute surface treatments such as plastering, stucco application, and masonry work to enhance structural integrity and aesthetic appeal
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and color schemes to accurately execute renovation and remodeling projects
- Perform detailed surface preparation for construction painting projects, including working on drywall, framing, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and restoration tasks
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations by utilizing respiratory protection equipment, following safety protocols on construction sites, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving industrial painting, coating applications, concrete finishing, welding, or masonry work to ensure seamless project execution
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of residential painting techniques including brush painting, roller painting, construction spray painting, and airless paint spraying
- Strong understanding of color theory for achieving desired visual effects and accurate color matching through visual comparison methods
- Proficiency with construction estimating to assess project scope and material requirements accurately
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans for precise execution of tasks
- Experience with power tools such as drills, sanders, saws, caulking guns, and other hand tools necessary for surface preparation and finishing
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction site work including respiratory protection standards and safety protocol adherence
- Ability to perform structural painting tasks on various surfaces like stucco or masonry while maintaining high standards of quality and durability
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and calculating paint quantities or material needs
- Hands-on experience in renovation projects involving carpentry (trim carpentry or frame carpentry), plastering, masonry or restoration work
- Knowledge of industrial painting processes where applicable for specialized projects involving coating or maintenance work
