Sleep & Airway Medicine Centers: Financial Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Financial Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience by guiding patients through their financial options with professionalism, empathy, and clarity. This team member is responsible for presenting treatment costs, coordinating payment plans, verifying insurance benefits, and ensuring accurate entry of financial information into the system. The Financial Coordinator helps patients feel confident in moving forward with their recommended treatment by creating transparency and trust throughout the financial process.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Financial Presentations
- Review treatment plans with patients following provider recommendations
- Clearly explain costs, third-party financing options, and out-of-pocket responsibilities
- Coordinate payment plans in accordance with company policies and patient needs
Insurance & Billing Support
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to presenting financial arrangements
- Submit and follow up on pre-authorizations and claims as needed
- Ensure accuracy of insurance information and billing entries in Denticon
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed records of all financial discussions and signed agreements
- Ensure consent forms and financial documents are uploaded appropriately into the system
- Follow all compliance guidelines for patient privacy and financial transparency
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with clinical team members and Treatment Navigators to support the patient journey
- Communicate patient concerns and special financial situations to leadership as needed
- Participate in daily huddles and contribute to office-wide goals
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in dental or medical financial coordination preferred
- Strong understanding of insurance verification and patient financing options
- Proficient with Denticon or similar dental practice management systems (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of empathy and professionalism
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
