Calculus Tutor — In-Home (Fremont, Union City, Newark)
Applicants must be located in the Fremont, Union City, and Newark area and willing to commute to students' homes. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Calculus Tutor to join our team. This role involves working with students of various ages, including high school students, college students, and adults. This job requires commuting to students' homes or public spaces such as libraries and coffee shops for in-person instruction. Tutors must have a valid driver's license. Tutors are compensated for commute times of up to 15 minutes between teaching locations.

Duties
- Assess individual student needs and develop tailored lesson plans to meet their learning objectives in calculus and related math coursework.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions in calculus (including AP Calculus AB/BC), pre-calculus, and foundational algebra, ensuring clarity and conceptual understanding.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, adapting teaching methods and pacing accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to track student progress and adjust strategies as necessary.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of professional tutoring or teaching experience, ideally in high school or college-level mathematics.
- Strong command of calculus (differential and integral) and the prerequisite pre-calculus and algebra foundations.
- Experience teaching AP Calculus (AB and/or BC) is highly desirable; experience with SAT/ACT math or college-level calculus is a plus.
- Experience in special education, along with knowledge of classroom management techniques, is a plus.
- A background in FUSD curriculum development is a plus, showcasing the ability to create engaging educational content.
- Familiarity with common FUSD math textbooks such as Big Ideas Algebra, Big Ideas Geometry, and SpringBoard Math.
