Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and variety
- Follow food safety management protocols, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
- Use knife skills effectively, employing slicing techniques to ensure precision and efficiency
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to safety standards in production
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and uphold excellent food service standards
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, preferably as a line cook or dietary aide
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and meal preparation techniques
- Familiarity with food safety standards in production environments
- Demonstrated proficiency in food handling, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Experience with menu planning, food presentation, and catering services is a plus
- Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and understanding of food industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
