Z2 Motorsports is a growing full-service auto shop dedicated to the repair, restoration, customization, and tuning of classic cars, muscle cars, and performance cars. With mechanical, body/paint, and fabrication shops on-site, Z2 can perform almost all related work in-house.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Z2 is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Autobody Technician to join our team. This position involves the restoration and customization of specialty cars. The ideal candidate will have experience in the full cycle of Autobody repair, including weld-in panel replacement, metal patching, body work, and paint, with a strong attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship, and a passion for cool cars.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Disassemble and reassemble cars as needed to support repairs
- Repair or replace damaged body panels (floors, quarters, etc.) that are bolted or welded in
- Fabricate patches to remediate rust or other defects in body panels
- Establish precise and consistent body panel gaps and alignment that often exceed the original quality of the car
- Perform body work using filler
- Paint, wet stand, and buff
General
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and time records
- Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and comply with company and industry standards
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as an autobody technician; experience with classic cars, muscle cars, and performance cars strongly preferred
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training a plus
- Certifications: I-CAR and/or ASE certification or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
