General Operator - Production - $19.00-$20.00/hour
Pay: $19.00/hour +$1.00/hour for 2nd and 3rd Shift ($20.00/hour)
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week
Location: Plymouth, IN
We're seeking dependable, safety-focused General Operators to support seasonal seed production operations in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
This is a hands-on, physical position with work performed both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
Available Shifts
Candidates must be flexible and available to work any shift. Shift assignments are determined after training based on business needs.
1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (+$1/hour)
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM (+$1/hour)
Job Responsibilities
Duties vary by season and may include:
Harvest Season (September-October)
Receive and unload harvested seed from trucks
Support husking, sorting, drying, shelling, and seed storage
Operate processing equipment safely
Apply seed treatments
Supply seed to conditioning operations
Packaging & Warehouse (November-March)
Label, tag, bag, and palletize seed
Enter inventory into computer systems
Stage and prepare seed for shipment
Support warehouse operations
Spring & Summer (April-August)
Re-tag and re-bag seed
Inspect, clean, and wash seed containers (Pro Boxes)
Support seed inventory and production activities
Perform general housekeeping and cleaning
Throughout the year, employees may:
Operate production equipment and machinery
Rotate through various production roles
Follow safety and quality procedures
Assist with housekeeping during downtime
Participate in daily team meetings
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to:
Lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds
Walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods
Work at elevated heights when required
Perform repetitive lifting and repetitive movements
Work safely in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, pollen, and insects
Distinguish different seed varieties by size and color
Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable transportation to and from work
Positive attitude, flexibility, and dependability
Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts as needed
Agricultural or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required
