CNC Lathe Operator

Hours: M-F 5:30PM-2:30AM
Position Summary
Exact Machine Service is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain lathe machines to produce high-precision components. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and ability to interpret engineering drawings will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate lathe machines to perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, and other machining operations on metals and alloys
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances
- Install and secure workpieces using appropriate fixtures and clamping methods
- Select and install cutting tools; adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut as required
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tooling changes
- Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to resolve machining issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a Lathe Operator or in a similar manufacturing role preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings accurately
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of cutting tools, tool geometry, and machining applications
- Familiarity with lathe machining techniques (turning, drilling, grooving, threading, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to perform routine machine maintenance tasks
