We’re looking for: Feed More, Inc. seeks a full time Meal Packaging Assistant. This position supports the packaging assembly line for Meals on Wheels by being responsible for the labeling of all meals from the Community Kitchen for the Meals on Wheels program. This position ensures correct quantity of all foods, adheres to dietary requirements of all programs served, and assist the Meal Packaging Coordinator and other staff in the Community Kitchen as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide direction for volunteers
- Work closely with large pool of volunteers that may have limited food service experience
- Ensure safety of volunteers using multiple pieces of commercial food service equipment
- Ensure follow through of proper sanitation of workspace and equipment
- Ensure ServSafe practices followed to eliminate the possibility of cross contamination and maintenance of proper food temperatures
- Ensure portions are followed accurately and consistently
- Ensure that volunteers have a good experience and receive value for their time investment
- Ensure correct quantity of all foods, adheres to dietary requirements of all programs served, and assist the Meal Packaging Coordinator and other staff in the Community Kitchen as needed.

What you’ll do:
Monitor and support volunteers in all activities
- Responsible for the labeling of all meals for the Meals on Wheels program ensuring the appropriate labels are attached
- Ensure correct quantity of all foods prepared
- Set up packaging line from scheduled menus to include equipment and supplies, keeping storage area neat and organized
- Communicate with the Meal Packaging Coordinator regarding any problems or concerns
- Check the accuracy of meals regarding all special dietary requirements and allergy restrictions
- Incorporate safe food handling practices into all job tasks
- Follow department procedures for sanitation and temperature monitoring
Job Specifics:
- Separates labels by route using the blue highlight as an indicator of the beginning of each route.
- Prepares one route at a time.
- Sets up rack and tags for route.
- Identifies and pulls all Special and Allergy diets and labels all of those meals all for the route.
- Works with volunteers on remaining labels which should all be General (and Diabetic if applicable).
- Does final review of rack to ensure that all meals are labeled for the correct route and all meals have been correctly labeled
- Meal Packaging Assistant loads each rack by route, labeling for one route at a time; selecting all Special Diet trays needed as needed to complete route
- Ensures all meals are correctly routed
- Weekend Box labeling
- Assists with Small Bag Labeling
Other:
- Responsible for the labeling of all meals for the Meals on Wheels program ensuring the appropriate labels are attached

Must have:
- High School Diploma and at least two years of work experience or a combination of education and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- ServSafe Certification required

- Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
- Must have previous food service experience
- Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation
- Must have flexible schedule to accommodate corporate needs, occasional night and/ or weekend work may be required
Ideally will have:
- Three to five years previous work in food preparation, food service or restaurants
- Prior experience with non-profit organizations
- Strong customer service expertise
- Knowledge of food bank programs, an awareness of how specific functions relate to programs and the mission of food banks
- Familiar with community feeding programs
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
