Safely operate vehicle (with or without a trailer) and equipment
Provides daily maintenance of all park facilities, including office spaces, pavilions, comfort stations, tenant properties and the pool complex
Safely Operates/maintains equipment including backhoe/front-end loader, small dump truck and snowplow, skid steer, mini excavator, etc.
Operates hand, power and rotary tools
Responsible for winterization and de-winterization of all park pavilions, comfort stations, hydrants and pool complex
Responsible for daily operation of the County pool and bath house in season (i.e., programming VFD’s, programming and operating chemical feed computer, repair and replacement of pumps and 480V 3-phase motors, operating/maintaining filtration system, routine testing and treating water, etc.)
Performs skilled building maintenance activities in one or more of the following areas while operating various tools and equipment, including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing tools, HVAC and electrical testing equipment and related equipment as required. While working with a variety of chemicals including cleaning products, solvents, glues, etc.:
Electrical - Performs a variety of electrical repairs and maintenance tasks; repairs, replaces, and maintains electrical wiring, motors, lighting systems, and other electrical fixtures and equipment; identifies damaged or worn electrical components and takes corrective action as assigned.
Plumbing - Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems and a variety of plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets and water heaters
HVAC – Preventative maintenance, diagnosing, general repairs, units including oil, propane, electric, geothermal.
Carpentry - Performs carpentry related tasks; makes repairs to tile and carpet as necessary; makes repairs on doors, windows, floors, gates, roofs, and ceilings; repairs, installs, and constructs shelving, and other wood equipment and fixtures.
Painting - Paints facilities and equipment; prepares surfaces for painting; applies interior and exterior paint, strip, paint or stain cabinets, doors, and woodwork.
Performs general building maintenance, janitorial, grounds, weather related duties and other facilities maintenance related duties as assigned.
Performs a variety of skilled plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical activities associated with the maintenance and repair of facilities.
Works cooperatively with Facility Management staff on major projects
Responds to maintenance emergencies such as electrical, plumbing and heating
Assists with grounds maintenance and sanitation, as needed, including special events, snow removal, loading and hauling trash and recyclables, and janitorial duties
Assists in after-hours and weekend maintenance of the County pool, in season
Some in season weekend work required
Performs basic equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs
Ability to operate a computer to navigate the internet and use Windows platform (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Creates, sends, receives, reads and responds to email
Works with a computer-based work order system to track tasks
Plow and salt Park roads and parking lots
Performs other duties as required
Ability to lift 75 pounds to waist height, 50 pounds to shoulder height and 40 pounds above the head
Ability to climb a ladder to a working height of 30 feet
Must be able to transverse uneven terrain for long distances
Must be able to stoop, bend over from the waist and reach overhead frequently and for extended periods of time
Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while operating equipment
This position is exposed to the potential of bodily fluids including, but not limited to blood, urine, feces, vomit, and saliva
This position has been identified as having the potential for exposure to Hepatitis B. Access to training and a voluntary vaccination against Hepatitis B is provided
This position requires wearing long pants and department-supplied long and/or short-sleeved shirts
This position requires the use of closed toe and closed back shoes that support the ankle
