EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
220 Day Contract
Employment date effective with the 2026-2027 school year.
DESCRIPTION:
The School Counselor will be responsible for providing educational, occupational, and life guidance to students in a residential school setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in student intake and orientation process; Maintain educational records, including grade reports and transcripts; Administer and interpret assessments to aid in student development; Work with the building administrator to coordinate state required assessments; Facilitate the implementation of social skills and transition curriculum; Assist host agency staff with crisis intervention needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Holds or qualifies for a West Virginia Professional Student Support certificate in Counseling PK-AD; Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass a background check; Mandatory training sessions.
SALARY:
Salary based on experience and education level per TCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
