Job Summary:**
The Safety Tech plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment for all Primoris Energy Services personnel and subcontractors on projects in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position involves assisting in the implementation and monitoring of safety programs, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and client requirements.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and fall protection.
- Assist with incident investigations, including gathering information, documenting findings, and recommending preventive measures.
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, training logs, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with project management, superintendents, and foremen to address safety concerns and implement effective solutions.
- Respond to and assist with emergency situations on-site.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through positive reinforcement and continuous communication.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in safety regulations.
Job Qualifications:**
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the energy, construction, or industrial sector.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, hazard identification, and risk assessment techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to perform physical duties associated with job site inspections, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites within the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.
