Rise Academy is seeking a Cook/Chef who is truly passionate about Early Childhood Nutrition and Safety! We are a large private school, providing care for children infants-elementary age, which provides for greater flexibility, support, and growth. We have onsite owners and 4 directors to provide support to staff wherever needed. Responsibilities:
- Prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks following the Rise Academy Menus
- Change/create new menus from time to time as children get tired of eating certain items.
- Be familiar with and stay current on state child care regulations, local and federal regulatory agencies, Rise Academy policies and maintain compliance with all.
- Track all food allergies and ensure correct food is delivered and served to classrooms.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with a strong focus on parents of children with allergies and food needs.
- Adhere to the daily time schedule for all meals and snacks.
- Disinfect/Sanitize dishes, counter tops, stove and all other kitchen equipment daily and maintain a high standard kitchen up to health department requirements.
- Track Inventory and Order food & supplies, maintaining an established budget.
- *The perfect applicant would have a willingness to be trained to drive a 14 passenger school bus (no additional license required, clear driving record required), increased paid will be considered for obtaining or currently holding a Class B CDL.
· Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service
- Previous experience in childcare a plus
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and nutrition
- Demonstrate the following qualities: self- motivation, self-direction, patience and the ability to make good judgements, creativity, reliability and dependability
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
- CPR/First Aid (can be fulfilled upon hire)
- Background Check and Fingerprints (can be fulfilled upon hire)
- Food Managers Certification (ServSafe) (can be obtained upon hire)
- Valid Driver’s License, Class B CDL classification, or willingness to obtain.
