Description

Oversee staff in planning, developing, and implementing electives and enrichment curricula throughout the district, providing school staff training, supporting extra curricular activities, conducting technical assistance to district schools, monitoring fitness test results, and maintaining an adequate instructional rotation of equipment to the schools.

Develop, implement, monitor, review, and coordinate Computer Science and Technology TEKS-based curricula for grades K-12, including textbook adoptions, in alignment with resources and assessments

Coordinate the District’s Computer Science and Technology Department events, co-curricular, extracurricular opportunities, and competitions

Develop and maintain the Computer Science and Technology department budget including oversight, approval of expenditures, and monitoring of General Operations and grants budgets.

Communicate, respond to, and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders and entities regarding the electives and enrichment programming

Address any compliance issues from the state and court orders

Keep abreast of the technical, legislative, and professional developments that after assigned responsibilities and facilitate daily electives and enrichment program operations

Administer the selection, purchase, and distribution of all departmental materials and services, and manage all departmental resources as well as supervise the activities of the department in accordance with district policies and applicable law

Supervise the work activities of the staff including, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as directed

Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications

Master’s degree in directly related field required.

Valid Texas teacher certificate and Administrator certificate required.

At least ten years of related supervisory experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of the educational process gained through extensive number of years of
directly related experience. -
Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of professional development and training.

Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals
of the position. -
Demonstrated knowledge and exemplary use of web-based communication tool.
