The Swim and Dive Coach is responsible for instructing and supervising swim and dive team participants in a safe, supportive, and structured environment during the summer season. This role focuses on developing athletes’ swimming and diving techniques, encouraging sportsmanship, and fostering a positive and team-oriented atmosphere while ensuring the safety of all participants during practices, meets, and team activities.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and lead swim and dive team practices for athletes of varying skill levels.

Instruct swimmers on proper stroke techniques, starts, turns, and race strategies.

Provide coaching and instruction on safe and effective diving techniques.

Supervise athletes during practices, meets, and team-related activities to ensure safety and adherence to facility rules.

Assist in preparing athletes for swim and dive meets, including organizing lineups and providing encouragement and guidance during competitions.

Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive team culture among participants.

Communicate effectively with swimmers, divers, parents, and Aquatics leadership regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates.

Assist with the coordination and execution of swim and dive meets as needed.

Enforce all aquatic facility policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Maintain organization of swim and dive equipment and assist with keeping the pool deck and surrounding areas clean and safe.

Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Current Lifeguard Certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Previous experience as a swim or dive coach, competitive swimmer, or diver preferred.

Strong knowledge of competitive swimming strokes and/or diving techniques.

Ability to work effectively with youth athletes of varying ages and skill levels.

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain a positive and encouraging coaching style.
Work Schedule

This position runs from June 2, 2026 through August 1, 2026

Hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and scheduled swim and dive meets.
