Direct Reports: Approximately 14–15 employees
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations for a plating and polishing department. This person will be responsible for running the shift, supervising approximately 14–15 employees, maintaining production flow, and ensuring parts meet quality standards.
This is a hands-on floor leadership position. The Supervisor will not be responsible for employee scheduling but will ensure the team is working safely and efficiently and that production is running correctly throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support approximately 14–15 production employees
- Run the 3rd shift and serve as the primary point of contact for the department
- Monitor production to ensure parts are processed correctly and on schedule
- Inspect parts and ensure they meet quality standards
- Identify and address production or quality issues
- Ensure employees are performing their assigned duties and following procedures
- Monitor employee performance, attendance, and overall well-being during the shift
- Troubleshoot issues and communicate problems to management
- Ensure plating and polishing processes are operating correctly
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment
- Communicate shift updates, production concerns, and quality issues to the next shift and management
- Assist employees with questions or problems that arise during the shift
- Enforce company safety and production policies
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or production supervisory/lead experience required
- Experience in plating, polishing, metal finishing, or a similar industrial environment preferred
- Strong understanding of production and quality processes
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of 14–15 employees
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Must be dependable and able to work a consistent 3rd shift schedule
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who knows how to keep production moving, hold employees accountable, recognize quality issues, and address problems before they become bigger issues. Experience in plating, polishing, metal finishing, or industrial manufacturing is highly preferred.
This is not a scheduling position — the focus is on supervising the team, quality, production, and running the shift.
