Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain a variety of precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in Manual machining, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring manufacturing excellence. Duties
- Operate manual machines such as lathes and milling machines, ensuring accurate production according to specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce precise components.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and tooling adjustments for optimal machining performance; perform routine maintenance on machinery.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or finishing tasks.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste throughout the machining process.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling hazardous materials when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Machinist working with milling machines, Drills and lathes .
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings to ensure precise manufacturing.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, .
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of tooling setup, maintenance procedures, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to machining operations including welding, power tools usage, and forklift operation is preferred.
- Prior experience working within lean manufacturing environments or continuous improvement initiatives is advantageous.
