Job Summary
DME, Inc. is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This position works closely with the Sales Manager and other sales professionals to develop new business, maintain strong customer relationships, and provide engineered solutions that meet customer requirements. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to help achieve and exceed company sales objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of DME's products, manufacturing capabilities, and engineering solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers, explaining product features, capabilities, and benefits.
- Work closely with customers to identify project requirements and recommend the most effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager and engineering team to develop proposals and provide technical sales support.
- Generate new business by identifying prospective customers and maintaining an organized sales call schedule.
- Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates by reviewing customer drawings, blueprints, specifications, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other technical professionals throughout the sales process.
- Secure new orders, maintain existing customer accounts, and coordinate product delivery schedules.
- Recommend product modifications or engineered solutions to meet customer-specific applications.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting and resolving issues involving installed products.
- Recommend material or design improvements that reduce costs, improve performance, or increase production efficiency.
- Participate in research and development efforts for new products and applications.
- Maintain detailed customer records and document all customer interactions within the company's CRM system.
- Monitor customer feedback and recommend improvements to products, services, and internal processes.
- Meet or exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Design tooling and work collaboratively with production to ensure manufacturability.
- Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
- Previous technical sales or industrial sales experience required.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial products, or engineered equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of expansion joint manufacturing is highly desirable.
- AutoCAD drafting experience.
- Familiarity with ASME standards is a plus.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and blueprints preferred.

- Ability to travel as business needs require.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, reach, and occasionally work in hot or cold manufacturing environments.
