Position Overview
Hilton Head Health is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Part-Time Health Educator to support our lifestyle education programming and guest experience. The hours required are based on a flexible schedule depending on the Weekly Programs.
This role is responsible for delivering educational lectures and facilitating individualized health consultations that empower guests to make sustainable lifestyle changes. The Health Educator translates evidence-based health and wellness principles into practical, actionable strategies related to weight management, nutrition, behavior change, and overall well-being.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who combines scientific knowledge with empathy, professionalism, and the ability to meet guests where they are in their health journey.
Key Responsibilities
Lifestyle Education
- Deliver engaging educational presentations and workshops on topics such as:
- Weight management and sustainable lifestyle change
- GLP1 - Support Program
- Nutrition fundamentals and healthy eating habits
- Behavior changes and habit formation
- Chronic disease prevention
- Stress management and overall wellness
- Present complex health concepts in a clear, relatable, and motivating manner.
- Adapt educational content to diverse audiences with varying health backgrounds and goals.
Guest Consultations
- Conduct one-on-one health consultations focused on goal setting, behavior change, and lifestyle planning.
- Support guests in developing realistic and sustainable action plans.
- Utilize coaching and motivational interviewing techniques to enhance engagement and accountability.
- Collaborate with fitness, nutrition, and program staff to ensure a cohesive guest experience.
Program Support
- Contribute to the positive and supportive learning environment central to Hilton Head Health programming.
- Maintain accurate documentation of consultations as required.
- Stay current with evidence-based health and wellness research and best practices.
- Support program initiatives and special events as needed.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Exercise Science, Nutrition, Public Health, Psychology, or related field
- Experience delivering educational presentations or workshops
- Experience in health coaching, wellness education, or lifestyle counseling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to weight management and behavior change
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, or related discipline
- Nationally recognized certification such as:
- NBC-HWC (National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach)
- WellCoaches or Precision Nutrition Certification also accepted
- ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or NASM certification
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) and/or Wellness Counseling credentials also accepted
- Training in motivational interviewing or behavioral coaching methodologies
Experience in wellness retreats, medical fitness, or lifestyle intervention programs
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
