Growing Ophthalmology practice seeking an Ophthalmic Administrator to round out our front desk team. Our practice is very busy, and we would love to add the right candidate to our team to allow for cross training and growth within the practice as well as opportunities at our new ambulatory surgical center.
Job responsibilities include checking patients in, entering demographic and insurance information, answering phone calls, scanning, checking patients out and collecting co-pays and deductibles. Our front desk is the hub of the practice, you are the first voice and face our patients see, as a referral based practice, we have a high expectation to treat our patients, referring doctors office and fellow peers with respect and care. We are a private practice, your responsibilities will spill over to learning all procedures, evaluations, surgeries, testing and common diagnosis we see in our cornea specialized practice. You will also learn how to explain bills to patients, go over post op instructions as well as commonly used ophthalmic drops for certain diagnosis and surgeries. Our practice is not a common practice where you will do the same thing each day, you will learn to do many things and do a variety of these each day, multi-tasking is a quality you should pocess to ensure you will be able to function highly in this position.
Warm, friendly, efficient and flexible team member needed with the additional following requirements;
- Medical and Vision insurance verification experience is a must
- HS diploma/GED
- 2 years + medical office experience,
- Basic medical terminology/ ophthalmic terminology a plus for any candidate but we are happy to train anyone that is interested.
- Can work independently and stay on task
- Multi-tasking, not to be taken lightly. This role will entail a variety of different tasks and skills that you will perform daily in no direct order. This quality is a skill you must posess.
- Communication is a high quality while we work in a team setting with communication between two practice locations with one EMR and one Practice Management System. This makes communication as well as documentation a strong quality in our candidate.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
