About the Job
The Irrigation Technician will perform installation and maintenance services under the supervision of the appointed Superintendent. This position involves working on a variety of sites, including commercial properties, residences, golf courses, and athletic fields. The Irrigation Technician will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure efficient and effective water usage. Duties include troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems comply with design specifications. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspecting properties and accurately generating reports
- Troubleshooting of two wired and conventional systems
- Locating and repairing electrical issues
- Setting timers – conventional and smart timers
- Repairing broken mains/laterals/heads
Qualifications:
- Must have minimum 2 years landscape construction experience as Foreman or related position
- A Basic understanding of pipe sizing and irrigation design
- Ability to inspect properties and generate reports to ensure proper services, including:
- Properly setting timers, repair broken main and laterals and replace broken heads
- A willingness to learn
- Ability to do winterization.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to estimate the necessary time and materials to properly complete a job
- Valid driver license with a clean driving record
