The Personal Care Aide provides direct assistance to residents with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and overall well-being. Working as a member of the Personal Care Home team, this role supports residents through compassionate care, medication assistance, nutrition support, and maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment.
CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, and Direct Care training provided upon hire
Assist residents with ADL's (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring).
A staff person who has successfully completed a Department-approved medications administration course that includes the passing of the Department's performance-based competency test may administer oral; topical; eye, nose and ear drop prescription medications and epinephrine injections for insect bites or other allergies.
Licenses & Certifications
Compensation is based on experience and applicable organizational pay practices.
Initial training includes safe management techniques, ADLs and IADLs, personal hygiene, dementia care, infection control, medication administration, nutrition, gerontology, safety management, universal precautions, mobility assistance, and resident support planning.
Frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards.
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and assist residents throughout the workday.
