General summary of job functions
Primary duties include, but are not limited to
Removal / installation of:
AC and DC electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, bearings, hammer mill shredders, gear boxes, motor drives/VFDs and other industrial rotating equipment
Preventative / predictive maintenance of:
AC and DC electric motors, pumps, fans, blowers, bearings, hammer mill shredders, gear boxes, motor drives/VFDs and other industrial rotating equipment using various techniques and technologies such as:
PdMA, laser alignment, vibration data collection / analysis and in field dynamic balancing, ultra sonic data collection and lubrication, oil sample collection / analysis, bearing inspections, and CoolBLUE inductive absorbers
Troubleshooting and failure analysis of:
AC and DC electric motors, pumps, fans, blowers, bearings, hammer mill shredders, gear boxes, motor drives/VFDs and other industrial rotating equipment
This position requires work at multiple customer locations, occasional travel, overtime as needed, and participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree, Technical Certificate, or formal training in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Reliability Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of motor repair, pump repair, industrial maintenance, field service, predictive / preventative maintenance, millwright work or related experience preferred.
- Experience with vibration analysis, PdMA testing, motor circuit analysis, infrared thermography, or dynamically balancing preferred.
- Familiarity with AC/DC motors, pumps, gearboxes, variable frequency drives (VFDs), blowers, fans and industrial repairs- highly preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems in field environments.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and standard units of measure.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to solve problems in non-standardized situations using sound technical judgment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and associates at all levels.
- Must demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must maintain a high sense of urgency and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to travel to customer locations and work overtime, weekends, and on-call assignments as required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
