Job Summary
We are actively seeking compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the Pittsburgh area and surrounding communities. Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support behavioral health needs through positive behavior management strategies and behavioral interventions
- Facilitate communication using various methods such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication tools when applicable
- Drive clients to appointments, community activities, or outings safely and responsibly
- Collect data on client progress, behaviors, and service outcomes to inform care plans and support team collaboration
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication-related activities accurately
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to promote social interaction and community participation
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or related conditions
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
- Ability to perform caregiving duties with patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Familiarity with home and community care environments and assisting with ADLs
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely for client transportation needs
- Data collection skills for tracking progress and documenting services accurately
