Stockroom Lead
JOB DIMENSIONS:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, leads the receipt, identification, storage, disbursement, and maintenance of inventory materials and supplies for an assigned stock area; selects, counts, weigh-counts, and delivers materials; requisitions stock
and leads physical inventories counting within assigned area; and performs related work as assigned.
Reports to:
Stockroom Supervisor
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position;
- Checks in materials received;
- Instructs stock clerks as to where to store stock, how to handle and stack materials, and how to properly identify the materials;
- Reviews requisitions and work orders, and expedites the disbursement of stocks to the various manufacturing areas and the Shipping Department;
- Trains new employees and assign work to the Stock Clerks assigned to the area;
- Monitors inventory levels and requisition stocks in low supply at prescribed order points;
- Performs cycle counts;
- Checks inventory records and adjust records if variances exist;
- Prepares the stock area assigned for physical inventories and leads annual physical inventories in assigned stock area;
- Performs basic computer data entry; word to record and update stock records;
- Enters materials received, records locations, and monitors distribution; and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education:
Considerable experience and training in stock and inventory control, storage and distribution.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of stock and inventory control procedures and requirements necessary for the day-to-day operation of the assigned stock area;
- Knowledge of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices;
- Knowledge of basic math;
- Considerable knowledge of product and material specifications for assigned stock area;
- Skill in the operation of conventional forklifts, basic computer inventory programs, and weigh-counting scales;
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and material specifications, and complete, balance, and reconcile shortage requisitions and inventory reports;
- Ability to interpret operating procedures;
- Ability to inspect parts, materials, and work in progress for conformity with quality standards;
- Ability to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment;
- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others;
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions; and
- Ability to train, assign, and check the work of subordi nate employees.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, lift, move, and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or less;
- Ability to alternately stand and walk for extended periods of time;
- Ability to perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions 75% of time; and
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined; and

Special Requirements:
- Appropriate company certification in the operation of a forklift; and
